Keller broke up with Delaney in high school and slept with another character, Brenna, that night. He did this because he wanted Delaney to be free in college, and he wanted to stop himself from trying to go back to her. Delaney saw Keller and Brenna kissing and felt heartbroken.
In the present day, Delaney finds out Keller slept with Brenna all those years ago, and she's hurt even more.
In the present-day storyline, Brenna propositions Keller. He rejects her. But Delaney sees a picture of Brenna with her hand on Keller's arm. While Delaney is jealous and angry Keller didn't tell her about this incident, she doesn't really believe he cheated on her.
Keller’s brother also flirts with and propositions Delaney (mostly as a joke). This makes Keller jealous and causes tension between the brothers.
